Barely Carvallo is ambience & darkness, indecision & resolution. Conceived in Chicago at the start of 2020, this emotive shoegaze project from Dave Ratzek navigates melancholic themes guided by chords that rest at the juxtaposition of dreamful tranquility and shadowed sorrow.
This project exists both in full-band and solo acoustic formats. Earning their way onto reputable stages in Chicago, Barely Carvallo has rocked venues like Cobra Lounge, Cole's Bar, and Burlington Bar with their heavy five-piece outfit. Additionally, Dave Ratzek has played smaller, intimate shows at Uncommon Ground with reimagined acoustic compositions of the same original songs.
